At Mission Vista Academy, we have goals for our students known as Schoolwide Learner Outcomes (SLOs). SLOs are a part of our school culture: they reflect our school vision, the College and Career Readiness standards, and the education of the whole child.

• Navigators of the Digital World - Our students have access to a range of curricula and are adept at navigating multiple online learning systems, gradebooks, collaboration websites, etc.
• Self-Directed - To be successful in an independent study program, students need to learn to be self-directed. Our students organize their schedules to ensure classes are attended and deadlines are met. They are ready to navigate "real world" timeframes and requirements.
• Personalized Learners - Individualization is a hallmark of our program. Students are able to choose courses and curriculum that work best for their individual needs. Our students know their strengths and areas for growth, and are able to make decisions that support their ability to be successful.
• Responsible Citizens - Our classes and extracurriculars focus on demonstrating respect for everyone. We also take academic integrity seriously, with yearly coaching presentations and a comprehensive academic integrity policy that focuses on educating our students on the importance of always demonstrating academic honesty.
• Effective Communicators - We strive to offer a variety of opportunities for collaboration. Whether it's through Zoom collaboration, field trips, discussion boards, group projects, etc. our students learn to communicate thoughtfully and confidently.
